Resource Person Training

I planed to establish a resource person pool to make aware the school principals and teacher librarians/ library-in-charges.
As the first step 2 day workshop on "Information Sources and Information Literacy" was done with the contribution of NILIS. Participants were fully satisfied with the program and they expected next sessions as soon as possible.

Primary Reading Room Concept

Primary Reading Room Concept was introduced to Sri Lanka by the School Library Development Unit, Ministry of Education to promote reading. Making life long readers by attracting them giving free and enjoyable reading opportunities. Here are some photos of Model Reading Rooms at schools in Southern Province.

Model Reading Camp on Subject Focused Reading

As introduced by School Library Development Unit and National Institute of Library and Information Technology, I planned a subject focused reading camp. Selected subject was Geography.

According to the plan the first step was the training program for the selected resource persons, geography teachers and teacher librarians. They were make aware what type of methods can be used to teach Geography. At the end they were given topics for preparing lesson plans.

SECOND STEP was checking and updating lesson plans and activities.
